To celebrate the launch of their new collaboration with Le Coq Sportif, Footpatrol hosted an event for a select few to preview their ‘Macaron Edition’ Eclats, allowing people to get some hands on time with the trainers before they went on sale to the general public and as expected everyone loved them, including us. The rest of the evening consisted of tasty matching macarons and a lot of gin and tonic that had a few people wavey but all of that mixed in with a few goodie bags made for a great night.

Two days later we were invited back down to the store to shoot the launch and we were glad to see the size of the turnout when we got there in the morning. The first few people in the queue had been there since midnight, with the rest of the queue turning up between the early hours of the morning and an hour after the opening of the store.

The pavements of Berwick Street were hot to say the least as there was an abundance of heat being worn throughout the crowds of people craving to get their macaron fix, some people even broke out their old Footpatrol collabs showing just how much of a cult following the store has.

Five minutes before the doors opened camping chairs were being folded up and put aside and people started lining up in an orderly fashion, patiently waiting for their turn to go in. The first 10 people to purchase the Eclats received a bag full of freebies to take home with them as a thank you for their dedication, whilst everyone else received a bespoke dual branded tote bag.

An hour in and pairs were becoming sparse, leaving a few people unable to pick up the size that they originally wanted and in hope that someone may want to trade sizes but pretty much everyone walked out of that door with a pair of trainers and a grin on their face, which in our eyes is a success.

Big ups to the FP team and the guys at Le Coq Sportif, you smashed it!
