Futura In Bangkok “Pioneers leave directions”
Posted on February 21, 2013
On what must be the final leg of the promotion tour for the latest instalment of the Hennessy artist series, Futura made a stop in Bangkok at the trendy Bad Motel in Thonglor, a sick venue that’s themed as though it has suffered from some form of natural disaster falling apart bit by bit with fragmented walls and interior decor that suits the name perfectly, only to host what some would say is the godfather of graffiti and his latest project.
The interior transformed into part art gallery, with Futura’s infamous pointman on display and a part interactive bar area fully equipped with a digital graffiti screen allowing event goers to leave their mark. The guests of this invite only event included many of the friendly artists from the Bukruk festival and influencers a like including Mamafaka, a Thai street artist/graphic designer who Futura had visited whilst painting for Bukruk only days earlier.
After a brief q&a session, Futura went on to put the final touches to the wall of bottle packaging, later going on to personalise the life size pointman safeguarding the whole event. The pre-signed bottle was available to purchase on the night which came housed in one of the hand personalized boxes as well as a dual branded polo shirt, giving attendees the chance to go home with something truly unique.
Big up the U-Dox Thailand crew for making the event happen and thanks to Russell and Chris for the much appreciated invites.
