Three lions and a swoosh

Posted on July 8, 2013

It’s hard to believe how long football has officially been around for and this year marks the FA’s 150th anniversary and England’s first ever kit to be produced by Nike and to celebrate this occasion Nike have released two limited edition products, the England destroyer jacket and a pair of Air Max 1 iD's.   Finding any info on these prior to their release was a myth and getting our hands on them wasn’t easy either, well at least not the Air Max 1, as they sold out pretty quick and both were exclusive to the NSW cube in Nike Town London and Harrods in extremely limited numbers.   As soon as we found out that they dropped we were expecting a predominantly white [...] Read more

Nothing Sweeter Than Macaroons

Posted on June 5, 2013

To celebrate the launch of their new collaboration with Le Coq Sportif, Footpatrol hosted an event for a select few to preview their ‘Macaron Edition’ Eclats, allowing people to get some hands on time with the trainers before they went on sale to the general public and as expected everyone loved them, including us. The rest of the evening consisted of tasty matching macarons and a lot of gin and tonic that had a few people wavey but all of that mixed in with a few goodie bags made for a great night.   Two days later we were invited back down to the store to shoot the launch and we were glad to see the size of the turnout when we got there in the morning. The first few people in the [...] Read more

Le Coq Sportif à Londres

Posted on June 5, 2013

Two weeks ago Le Coq Sportif hosted an in-store event to promote the launch of their new Concept store in Covent Garden, London, which we were kindly invited to attend.   After we were done taking pictures we indulged in the extremely tasty food that was downstairs, alongside some beer of course, and then had a good browse around the store checking out their current collection. Later on in the evening we found out that the French brand is 130 years old this year , making it one hell of an old company with a lot of history behind it and to celebrate this they unveiled a sculpture of bicycle tires made by the Wilson brothers representing the brands long term cycling heritage.   The store [...] Read more

Hunting For Tassie Devils

Posted on May 13, 2013

Way back at the beginning of the millennium a guy called Woody decided to put together the first issue of Sneaker Freaker Magazine. Things were very different back then, many of the well established sneaker boutiques we all love today were just starting to trade and the blogs we use to keep track of upcoming releases and drop dates were either non existent or had only just surfaced.   Ten years and 26 issues deep we find ourselves in the present day and Sneaker Freaker’s latest collab is revealed to the world; the New Balance 998 “Tassie Devils”. The name for this collaboration comes from the Tasmanian Devil, a marsupial that is suffering from an epidemic of cancerous facial tumours [...] Read more

Sun, Sand & Air

Although we’ve had a cold start to our spring, Nike have imported the heat from Brazil to our feet with this vibrant pack of Air Max models, drawing inspiration from the energetic vibes and colours of Rio and its surrounding beaches.   Engineered Mesh is ripe throughout, making five of our favourite silhouettes that little bit lighter and additionally breathable, whilst the minimal stitching nature of the material means that the multiple panels usually found on the models have been replaced by a variation of perforations and colour tones, allowing the exotic colour blocking to look more natural.   Now there rarely comes a time that we like every piece of a collection but after spending [...] Read more

Strung Up On Ventilators “Business As Usual”

Posted on April 21, 2013

The Distinct Life is a creative agency owned and directed by Rick Williams, the co-owner of Detroit’s well known sneaker store, Burn Rubber, a store supplying nothing but the most premium products to the good people of Detroit.   Over the years Rick has been involved in a number of high profile collaborations, both through Burn Rubber and TDL and has worked with the likes of Ubiq, New balance and Reebok to name a few, all of which many agree have been seriously on-point. After his previous work with the Burn Rubber crew on the Reebok Classic Leather for its 30th anniversary, Rick was given free reign to do as he pleases with a pair of Reebok Ventilator’s. Rick’s rendition of the [...] Read more

Topsafe Presents: Horfée’s Imaginarium

Posted on March 21, 2013

Topsafe London are currently exhibiting the works of everyone’s favourite Parisian vandal, Horfe, for his debut show in London at a pop-up space at no.4 Wilkes Street.   Whilst his show may be seen as yet another venture of a writer into the world of art, a move that is often readily met with disapproval, it is instead one that perhaps highlights the creative capacity of someone who is able to break from such trappings with little concern for criticism. Horfe’s ever-eclectic hand-style, a mixture of vintage animations and cartoon art that merge into obscure lettering, is seen here to seamlessly translate into artworks that fit comfortably within the space of a gallery. Such a move [...] Read more
