Posted on February 4, 2014

Once again its that time of year were street wear enthusiasts a like gather to reminisce over last years drops and check out what made or didn't make the cut into the notorious street culture bible that is All Gone, hot off the heals from the initial release at Colette, Michael Dupouy dropped by Footpatrol to celebrate the launch with fans and industry heads.   The night naturally gave the opportunity for fans to get their hardcover book signed by the man himself which saw people bring down previous years including the ever eluding 2006, this years book came packaged with a t-shirt and tote bag in collaboration with Footpatrol, only to be released at foot patrol upon purchase [...] Read more

Stores Of Siam: Above The Rim Grand Opening

Posted on May 13, 2013

Thailand's leading sneaker store V.A.C have launched the new Basketball room at their Siam Square location in true style by collaborating with native artist Mamafaka. The celebrations were entangled with release drops from the Air Jordan 1 Retro OG in White/Varsity Red -Black and Black/Varsity Royal-Black to the limited t-shirt collaboration with Mamafaka who was on hand throughout the day signing shirts and doing sketches for anyone cheekily enough to put a canvas under his nose.   A great day of celebration for the ever growing sneaker scene in Bangkok, congrats to the lucky few who managed to win sign and framed collaboration tees and free pairs of Jordan's.       View [...] Read more

Vibes: Bed Supperclub

Posted on May 13, 2013

Built in the early millennium Bed Supperclub quickly became renowned as playing a huge part of Bangkok delving into the cultural innovations of the western world and its easy to see why, whilst walking down the long street of fairly modern Thai buildings you would be forgiven if you mistook Bed Supperclub as a prop building for the filming of the latest Hollywood sci-fi movie.   Once governed through the process of gaining entrance to the club and entering the space age pod structure you are hit with a strikingly white interior and invited to relax on pristine white beds that line the inner walls of the pod whilst Art installations are projected on the main walls reacting to the sound [...] Read more

Pharuephon “MAMAFAKA” Mukdasanit

Posted on March 30, 2013

Fresh from his debut show late last year dubbed No Cartoon After News Tonight and just recently taking part in the Bukruk Street Art Festival we were kindly welcomed by the man himself at his studio to take a closer look behind the scenes and discover the work he has put out to date. Graphic designer turned street artist Pharuephon Mukdasanit aka MAMAFAKA has been making waves with his character Mr. Hellyeah, a trademark style consisting of a cyclops eye, moustache and fury body.   Although the MMFK pseudonym is only a few years young the wealth of work already put out under the handle as well as the popularity gained in such a short period of time is phenomenal and one to be applauded [...] Read more

Stores of Siam Vol. 1 I Welcome To The Streets.

Posted on March 29, 2013

Upon deciding to spend a few months in Thailand, mainly Bangkok to be exact we immediately grabbed the nearest internet enabled device we could get our hands on and what followed was hours on hours of burying our heads researching what Bangkok has to offer. We very quickly discovered that Siam and the surrounding areas where the places to be in terms of retail spaces, heck someone somewhere even alikedned it to Tokyo's Harajuku and once that comparison was made we couldn't resist. Upon exploring the area we decided there was no time like the present to put our twist on the iconic 'store guide' series to profile the emphusiasm and passion of the retailers here as well as what unique products [...] Read more

Posted on March 16, 2013

Although still in its infancy URFACE has already had an exciting few years since its inception, producing limited edition bags and accessories each numbered and with artists signature its refreshing to see a brand with great ethics at its core especially in an era when the marketing words 'limited edition' has the consumers mind in a mess trying to figure out how many of them were actually produced.   The concept behind URFACE is to have a constantly refreshed collection by inviting the finest creative heads of Thailand to put there stroke of genius across the catalog of URFACE canvasses, already having worked with numerous of well known brands and a artist collection with party organizers [...] Read more

The Kaws Tragedy of Siam

Posted on March 12, 2013

After being out in Bangkok for a few months now my ill conceived perceptions of Thailand as a whole have been blown out of the water and left a ground shattering aftershock in my mind, Bangkok is by far the most creativity driven and encouraging city i have ever had the opportunity to explore and although we are in our infancy you will find a wealth of posts supporting what goes down in the capital.   I certainly didn't want my first real post about Siam Center to have any form of negativity at all i aliken this place as a mold of concept spaces such as Dover Street Market or Colette on a much larger scale and in the form of a shopping mall that is boutique and design driven however [...] Read more

The Lost Art of Bukruk

Posted on March 5, 2013

After the festival winded down and the retrospective artists returned home we started to discover we had actually missed out quite a few pieces from the festival, our apologies go out to the artists that we didn't manage to feature in our earlier posts, there wasn't a whole "favourite artists thing" going on we swear! We just didn't happen to come across the pieces and in our defence the Bukruk festival map hadn't clearly highlighted any pieces that were to be taking place within Siam Square so without any further a do may I present - The Lost Art of Bukruk. FOR | JASPAL Artist Collection Launch

Posted on March 2, 2013

Its refreshing to see a large brand working with artists who are mainly street artists, collaborating on a collection that's accessible to most and giving the artists more audience reach, most importantly with people who wouldn't normally discover their artwork whilst at the same time giving their tight knitted fan base the chance to take home a piece of their work. As well as the t-shirt collection, the artists were invited to decorate the Jaspal mascot dubbed MR.PAL with their creative talents which after the event will be displayed in a large window display in the Jaspal store held at Siam Centre, a trendy boutique shopping mall in Bangkok that I can only describe as though it's [...] Read more

Bukruk Street Art Festival Vol.2 I Pop-Up Gallery Store & Finished Pieces

Posted on February 28, 2013

With this being the first year of the festival it was great to stumble across such creative wealth being brought together in a city which i felt thrived and encouraged creativity like no other i have come across so far and certify the non-hostility vibe through out the event in which artists were more than willing to talk to you regardless of your social status or background.   After all of the artists had finished their pieces the week long festival was celebrated with the launch of a pop up store which had all of the items suspended and displayed in a 400sqm room that made it more gallery show esque than temporary pop up, it seemed like the freshest way to showcase international [...] Read more
